Toy Hauler Cargo Dimensions "C/S" and R/S" - what?

I am shopping for a Toy Hauler and in the specifications for some brands, I see the following two dimensions listed:
Cargo C/S
Cargo R/S

What are these? I can kind of guess based on the size of the dimension, but I did an exhaustive search and can find no definition of the terms. I'm going to be hauling two motorcycles and from having rented a Toy Hauler in Feb, loading was tight, and I want to be sure I understand the real dimensions of the cargo area.

If any of you know what these terms mean, I'd appreciate being educated!
Thanks,
Jim

  • Staying with the Powerlite brand you could go with the 22CBX and have plenty of room without any cabinetry being in your way. both bikes could load next to each other but I would still stagger 12". Should still fit into state parks..

Check out Condor wheel chocks. I use the free standing with floor mount bracket. I use the free standing because I can take it out of the traielr and use it in the garage or a cargo trailer if need be..

The condor will allow you ro ride in right next to the wall within a couple of inches and lock in and get off the bike. You then can tye the bikes down. I use ETrac on the floor. 10' sections on each side and one down the middle...

1L243 - We just recently rented a Power Lite 20CBX (same exact floor-plan as the Ragin' 20CBX that Y-guy posted above. We towed the bikes down to death valley and loved the experience, and that is what has put us into a mind to buy one. We sold our old beloved bunk house TT this weekend (kids are all grown!) and now we are seriously in the market. We were able to load our motorcycles in the 20CBX, but it was tight, and was so exactly because of teh short R/S dimension (now that I know what that means!). I had to angle the bikes as well as stagger them a good bit. Holds were not well placed - had to use some chain and caribeners (sp?) to make it work - but it did work. We have his and her BMW's, R1200RT and F800ST. Looking for something a little bigger, but still hope to fit into the federal and state campgrounds.

  • Loading two motorcycle in a average Toy Hauler should not be that tight. Things like drive in wheel chocks and staggering the bikes about 12" really helps. The Work and Play tow haulers have the widest cargo specifications I have seen you may want to check them out..
  • Bit annoying to have to decipher what they meant though. But at least they are giving that information, some don't bother and then you have to email or go look at one.
  • ramgunner is correct.

If you look at this image of a Rag'n 20CBX

You'll see the wall space on the R/S (driver) is shorter then the C/S (curb/passenger side). So if you're hoping to load a wide rig all you'll have is 6'2 of space unless its able to fit within the sink cabinets then you can go up to 14'11 without an obstruction. Knowing the space from the curb side to the cabinets would be even more helpful.
    Cargo R/S 6'-2"
    Cargo C/S 14'-11"
