My 2015 rear weighs 2200# loaded for daily duty (cross bed toolbox with tools), sticker says 1600# payload. I suspect mine is about the max setup for the RAM 1500 5.7, 8spd, 3.92... 10,200# 'towing capacity'.. might have lost a bit with the 4x4. Our TT is very light, 2700# 550# tongue weight.. I don't worry too much about exceeding the payload however we tend to pack light.
With this truck I wouldn't tow anything over 6000# on a regular basis, seems likely you'll either exceed payload or have to run the trailer with a light tongue which isn't my idea of fun.
Manufactures will put a 'tow' package on anything, my 2 door wrangler has a 'towing' capacity of 3500#. No way would I put our light 16' TT behind that at any speed greater than walking speed.
