toy hauler that looks like a utility trailer

Seems all the rage in toy haulers these days are the ones that look like big flashy travel trailers.

I figure if I were ever to move away from this truck camper, it would have to be to a toy hauler because my primary reason for camping includes a 7x14 enclosed trailer full of gear. It would be nice to have the truck bed empty during the summer.

Unfortunately I'm still working with a 9' wide x 9-1/2' high door in the barn, and those flashy travel trailer units start at 11-1/2' tall.

The brand name used to be Work and Play, but it looks like they got absorbed by Forest River and turned into flashy travel trailer units.

I think they dropped the Catalyst from production...not sure why, poor sales maybe. We looked at one, had absolutely no kitchen cabinet space and was a little rough on design I thought. There might be a few around still for sale though until dealers supplies are depleted.
  • Thanks for the recommendations but,

    A. The current Work and Play models are 11'+ tall. Even without AC they won't fit in the door of my barn. There's no way to raise the door, as the walls are only 10' high, and the town says I'm maxxed out on buildings on my property.

    B. Not camping in a smelly horse trailer. No matter how much you pressure wash and bleach, that stank does not come out.
  • Look for a race car trailer with living quarters
  • We have a 25' WB work and play. The frame is beefier than the normal TT based toy hauler. We have a front queen bed and a 13' garage built low to the ground like a cargo trailer. You can buy this unit for less than $25K. CCC 4,600 lbs

  • Look for a horse/stock trailer with living quarters. They are shorter height than the big RV toy haulers, also built much heavier duty and can haul heavier toys. :)
