How about using some ratcheting straps secured to the D-rings on the floor? Get the horse to lie down (they can be taught to do this), throw a blanket over them, then crank down on a few straps in an "X" pattern. Stop every couple of hours to let them get up, stretch their legs and water them. Use the outdoor shower to hose them off if they are getting hot.

THis whole thread has got "bad idea" written all over it. I grew up with horses and they are wonderful animals, but when owners start thinking like this I have to wonder who's got the higher IQ.
