We've thought of going 3/4 ton but they still only offer the 6.0 motor and it has 360 HP and 380 lb ft of torque where the 1/2 ton has 420 HP and 460 lb ft of Torque. The 1500 also has an 8-Speed Automatic vs the 6-Spped auto in the 3/4 ton. I know there isn't anything like a 1-ton Diesel for towing but I also need to factor in that I'll be driving this truck 80% of the time empty. Another factor I'm considering is the cost of Diesel in Utah is about 30% more than gas right now. Not to mention the 10 grand extra for the truck and the double cost oil changes and injection fluid.
