My niece and her DH were on a 2 lane road with their Everest and F350 CC DRW when a small vibration developed. Before they could figure it out the left front tire on the TV blew big time. They barely managed to maintain control and were all over the whole road. Luckily there was no traffic on the road or it would have been much worse. DH is a big construction worker and he was amazed at how fast it happened and how hard it was to "control" the TV.
The dollars spent on TV body damage would have easily paid for a really nice TPM system, and that system would have set off an alarm to let them know they had a hot tire but only if they had sensors on the front tires.
Tell your niece to go watch this video. Anyone who has not seen it should do so as well. Same advice applies to any vehicle.
Benny ParsonsSame thing from Michelin, just RV specificTo original poster - penny wise and dollar foolish. Do you check the pressure on all your TV tires every time you get in the cab? Easy to do with a TPMS.
I have 14 tires, I can check them all in less than 30 seconds.
