Afternoon to all,Ready to purchase a Tire Pressure monitoring system and want opinions on 4 sensors compared to 10.Personally I think the fifth wheel is the only thing that should be monitored, and Mamma Bear feels all including the dually truck should be monitored.Options welcome, and reason behind your opinion would be helpful as well.Looking forward to responses..

I chose the 4-tire option. I feel like I naturally pay close attention to the TV's tires, and since I'm riding in it I feel like I would have early enough warning if one of them started losing air.

My niece and her DH were on a 2 lane road with their Everest and F350 CC DRW when a small vibration developed. Before they could figure it out the left front tire on the TV blew big time. They barely managed to maintain control and were all over the whole road. Luckily there was no traffic on the road or it would have been much worse. DH is a big construction worker and he was amazed at how fast it happened and how hard it was to "control" the TV.The dollars spent on TV body damage would have easily paid for a really nice TPM system, and that system would have set off an alarm to let them know they had a hot tire but only if they had sensors on the front tires.

i do 6 sensors to cover all 4 trailer wheels and the front wheels of the truck.

I also got the 6 sensor set. Trailer tires and the inside duals. The valve stem sensors would not fit on my aluminum wheels but the inside duals were steel.

At a minimum buy the 4 for the trailer, for piece of mind the tires on the truck too. You may think you will feel the loss of air on the truck tires before they can end up ruined but are you sure? Side walls crumble easily when they run low on air and it does not take long. The price of a pressure monitor system is pretty small when you factor in the other costs of being stuck along side a road, the price of a new tire or damage to the vehicle. I use TST, they are easy to deal with and the system just plain works.

Sensors on all 10. Lost air on an inside dual and didn't know until a fuel stop and was to late, tire did come apart, but was no longer usable. Bought 6 new tires earlier than planned. Added the TPMS shortly there after (I know, closing the barn door after the horse is gone, but the rest will stay in now).

I have sensors on all the truck and trailer tires. Why would you not want to know what each tires pressure and temp is before it's to late.

Again. Cheep insurance.
