TPMS

Have a 3500 GMC and 34' Discover America. Looking at tire pressure monitors. Any input good or bad would be good. Are they worth it? What brand do you have?
  • we use a Pressure Pro system with which we have been very pleased .... it is an American made system and is backed by very good customer service .... the best time to buy a system is before a tire going bad has done major damage to your camper .... I was a bit hard headed, it took 3 tire failures to finally convince me to spend the money for a tire monitoring system .... after traveling with one, I wouldn't want to go back to not having one .... I like having the sensors screwed onto the valve stem, they are much easier to remove/repair/replace

  • Ok, I have a few questions... I too want a tpms. There are choices - internal vs external. I see the advantage of internal as more secure... But more pricey?

Batteries- I imagine its a bummer to change batteries on the internal sensors.

And do they effect tire balance. Not so much a deal for internal - they would be installed at tire shop. But, external.

Do the monitors have some type of audible alarm? I can't look constantly at it!

Do the external sensors flex the valve stems?

  • I have the TST 507RV. Have never had a flat, blowout, or even a low tire. But it definitely gives peace of mind to be able to view tire pressures and temps while driving long distances.
  • We also have the TST 507 used for the last three years great product with factory backup
  • I have the TST system. Works as good as any and the customer service is great.
