- DougEExplorerDefinitely use tire pressure monitors to provide a warning before a catastrophic failure.
- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIWhile the ST tires are new replace them with a good tire and sell the ST's on CL and recoup part of the money.
- Michelle_SExplorer IIIYep, they're a gamble alright. If you're lucky no damage to your rig, if unlucky you could have Thousands of dollars of damage to your RV. Traveled with friends this summer and they went thru 3 Chinese ST tires on a less than a year old Top End Jayco. Two were caught while sitting still, the third was changed on the narrow shoulder of a busy highway with only minimum damage to the RV. And he was running a TPMS.
Your RV, your money, your call. - fla-gypsyExplorerI would use them until the first sign of a problem and then replace them. Might be a year, might be four years. It's a gamble and there are better options
- DougEExplorerA bunch of trailer manufacturers are buying the tires already mounted on the rims so having an option is rare. I carry two spares. When one craters I'll get a quality tire as a replacement.
- majorgatorExplorerBLAH BLAH BLAH
ST tires from China are junk
LT tires from USA are the best
Yet no one has ever provided proof that one is better than the other.
Say there are 10 million china tires on the road, and 100,000 of them blow out.
There are 1 million USA tires on the road and 10,000 of them blow out.
USA tires had fewer blowouts, so they must be the winner!!!!!
I don't know what the market share is, but you can bet your last dollar that there's more China tires on trailers these days.
There is a difference in quality within the USA brands, just like's there's a difference within the China brands.
This is an RV forum where 95% of the posts are from the same 50 people or so. Take it for what its worth.
If I spent big money on tires, I too might be happy to tell you how great they are and how bad China tires are. Ever heard someone say they hated their Yeti cooler and wish they had a cheap Coleman instead? - Cummins12V98Explorer III

I would replace the tires. Cheaper than repairing the rv.
