I find it interesting that both of these rigs, only seem to be six lug axles, I believe that is the 4,200# axle not the 4,800# of the Max/Max F150. Both also list after market overload springs, not your out of the box F150.
They make it sound like they are within specs, or very close, so which is it. Though to count Shadow_Grey's lugs, but also looks like 6 lugs, correct me if i am wrong.
Yes both run LT tires a good choice.
HD Payload (7 lug) was not available for the 2011 model. The soft suspension pretty much requires some help even for in spec loads. While Shadow has LT tires, I have been running the P-rated tires for 59K miles as they are load rated for more than I carry. I just air them up to stiffen them some. I also commute 70-75 miles daily and the much heavier LT tires could adversely affect my fuel mileage. I have been up and down the mountains of Vermont, NH, NM, CO and Wyoming and have never wished for a Super Duty.
On the other hand, if my DW ever wishes for a bigger fiver, I will get an F350.
SkiSmuggs, thanks for the information.
I am one that would rather see someone pulling a a 30' to 32' 5er at or even slightly over GVWR with a 150/1500 than pulling a lighter 30' to 35' TT with the same TV. Towing a 5er is far more stable than a TT.
I have not looked for or seen the tow and payload ratings yet for the 2015 Aluminum bodied F150, it will be interesting to see how that weight loss affects payload and tow ratings. :h
