jerem0621,
I am sure you have an engineering degree from the University of Cracker Jacks by some of your comments. Believe it or not, the auto companies hire engineers that did go to school and receive an engineering degree. These engineers set the limits for the trucks based on engineering design and they do use safety factors in the design of the components.
Yes, the 1/2 ton trucks of today are more capable than the older trucks, but they still have their limits
I will go with the engineers and their design over someone that feels the ratings are not significant.
Ken
Okay, have at it.
Make sure your in all the ratings and get the warm and fuzzies every time you hook up. That's great. It doesn't make you one ounce a safer driver .
Ive have towed with and owned just about every kind of TV you can get. From compacts to Dullies...just because you have a HD truck and are under all your ratings doesn't mean you are safe or have ANY CLUE what your doing. I've pulled thousands and thousands of miles with all kinds of loads. I've pulled light and heavy and I know that either load can be unsafe. Real world experience here. Not just an arm chair QB who studies charts. (Not saying you do, you could be a CDL for all I know)
I will not dignify your personal insult with like mannered response. I just hope you figure out a way to validate yourself in the future without name calling and insulting someone's intelligence and profession.
Thanks, and have a great night,
Jeremiah
