Trailer Life Magazine

Beware when ordering this magazine. They have a company named Contrix Magazine Services that is selling their magazine. I ordered for one year and it was up in April. This weekend my wife asked me if I had ordered it again and I told her no. They had kept my card no. and charged to it again with out permission. I called the credit card company and explained what they had did and the lady told me they had trouble with that company before. Credit card company put a block on the outfit and was going to report the to the Better Business Bureau.
  • Doesn't the same company own all of this??? Another poster was complaining about Camping World???

bmet2000, my bank just told me about the virtual CC numbers to use buying things online or other places and Yahoo charged me for email services I did not order. In fact Yahoo said the charge was not to the old email account I have there. They said if I gave them my CC number they would check on who's email account used it. I said "like right", bye. I called my bank and cancelled the card, and they removed the 19.99 charge. That's when they told we about the virtual card numbers that you can generate yourself via online banking. Chris

  • Thanks for the info. Another way around companies using your card number again (one reason to NEVER use debit card for online purchases) is to use virtual credit card numbers. My Citibank card has them and it generates a one time credit card number that is different from your card number. So even if they keep the number it won't work next year when they 'auto-renew'.
  • I only order or renew magazines direct from the magazine company. My wife fell for one of these companies sales pitches.
