trailer life subscription

Hello,
I know I could ask this question on the Good Sam sub forum but I wanted to ask other rver's what they thought.
Is the magazine a good subscription to buy or is it just full of ads wanting you to buy 100k motor homes? If you ever read a cigar afficinado magazine you know what I mean.thanks

I look forward to every issue of Trailer Life. Totally agree it does get thin over winter months. So what. Still a good mag as far as I'm concerned.

  • I am a subscriber to TL magazine. Have been for 3 years. Last time I renewed it, it was cheap. IIRC about a $1.00+ per issue. Can't really go wrong with that. Yes it has lots of ads but no worse than any other mag. Pick up a diesel truck magazine. It's ridiculously full of ads.
TL has some really good articles on maintenance as well as some good reviews of trailers. JMHO but I think it's worth getting.
  • I enjoy reading it monthly. Lots of ads but what magazine or paper doesn't. Good articles on destinations and tech tips.
  • There is a lot of ads in both Trailer Life and Motorhome magazines. It has been getting smaller.
There is some good articles along with some good tech tips.
Another item is Hot line. This helps in understanding potential problems with dealers and other suppliers.
You can opt out of getting the deluge of junk mail.
I would suggest getting a subscription and decide for your self.

Okay thanks.... hopefully good sams reads this thread then and learns something.

Totally disagree, Trailer Life and Motor home magazine have outstanding articles on detestations and repair and maintenance questions. This month in MH there was an article on how to redo slide out toppers and a excellent article on Ft Meyers Florida

It come free with a Good Sam membership but I would gladly pay for it
  • Okay thanks.... hopefully good sams reads this thread then and learns something.
  • The problem with magazines, not just Trailer Life, is a lot of water goes under the bridge between issues. In this 21st century even daily newspapers have trouble keeping up. Like previously posted more up to date info in forums. Everything is on line now.
  • I gave up my subscription some time a go as it was full of ads and really biased test results largely dependent on who was the paid advertiser. Just my opinion.
  • I found that all RV magazines may have one good article and the rest yes is all ads.

More importantly is, that if you subscribe to anything Good Sam expect mega tons of junk mail forever in your mailbox. I don't find it worth it.

IMHO You can learn more by joining a good RV forum or RV brand specific forum.
  • Just one man's opinion here:
I gave up on mine. It kept getting thinner with more ads and less useful info.
I could completely get through it in 20 minutes.

It's been 2 years since I subscribed so it might be improved now??
