Good point. The front of the trailer isn't that much risk either.
My wife, my 2 adult daughters, and myself all ride motorcycles. Riding in the back of the trailer doesn't seem like that high of a risk activity.
I won't go near the front because of the lesson learned from watching "The Long Long Trailer". I'd try and fix dinner and I saw how that turned out. :B - dedmistonModeratorWithout going into the grizly details, a friend who used to be pretty active in the Toy Hauler forum had a horrible accident inside his rig one time when a piece of furniture failed and his dog was crushed. It was horrible. I'd never put our dogs back there.

She was just too big for the truck with four people. Used to show dogs a lot and often had them in the TT as well.

- IdaDExplorerI've seen enough trailers basically look like they've exploded in accidents to never want my wife or kids in one underway. A dog I can understand someone taking the risk, but your actual family? No freaking way.

I'm sure life is easier on everyone this way!
He walks over to the door and unlocks it and puts down the stairs. Out steps his wife, 3 children and 2 larger Golden Retrievers. - rockintomExplorerThis thread reminds of a story. I was workamping in Portland, OR in a larger RV Park as evening host. In pulls a 3/4 ton truck pulling a smaller 5th wheel (maybe 29-30ft.) When the guy got out of the truck I could hear something running. Then he takes a remote transmitter out and shut off the genset in the 5ver. He walks over to the door and unlocks it and puts down the stairs. Out steps his wife, 3 children and 2 larger Golden Retrievers. What the ...? I didn't say a word about it, but I won't be forgetting this one soon. rockin' :E :B
- jake2250ExplorerIn CA your are able to ride in a fifth wheel but only if you have communication between vehicles,I haven't been able to get my dog Hank to answer his CB handle yet,, I almost got him to give me a "10-4 Good Buddy Were good to go" But he insists on licking the mic and it sounds garbled,, were working on it!!
For now he rides in the bed of the truck with the shell on it and likes that!! - weathershakExplorerI learned a lot from my fur friends in my RV travels. I feel they do best when they travel in the same area as their humans do. Now, on occasion I travel with my cat. She is comfortable for hours on end and gets up from the lounge chair only to use the litter box in the bathroom. That got me thinking. I decided to make a modification so we now share the litter box, which I placed under the drivers seat. It amazes me how much further I get down the road now that I do not have to stop for potty breaks anymore. I just have to make sure we don't use it at the same time. :B
