For the last 8 years I drive straight to Orlando area from Raleigh, NC. Takes about 12 hours. After 8 nights I drive straight back. No problem at this point in my life. Most of our trips are 3-6 hours with Fl. being the longest. I would not do this multiple days but a one off once a year works fine for us. Most important is be safe and stay in your comfort level.
