Traveling with the roof vent open

Hey All,

Occasionally when on the road I see folks traveling with the roof vents open on their trailers. Made me think now that summer's here, does it really help keep the coach cooler when on the road?

Just curious how many of ya'll travel with the vents open and if it helps?

Thanks!

  • We keep ours open just a bit. The 'Venturi' effect from the small opening promotes are flow.
  • We have vent covers on ours so they are well protected. If not I would have them closed. Sometimes I have them open but never in dusty areas
  • Yeah this happened to me on another trailer. Wind buffeting at highway speeds worked one about 4" open that I had cracked open a bit. We stopped in the rain which got every thing in the living room wet.
Installed vent covers and no more issues like that.
  • JMO, but I would not purposely tow at highway speeds with roof vent lids open, unless having covers over the vent lids. I think in some cases, people do not get their lids closed tight enough, and the wind turbulence on the roof works them open.
