Has anyone experienced tread separation on Maxxis M8008 tires? I bought 4 of them in 2010 and just replaced 2 this past weekend do to separation. I am concerned because the 2 tires in question were ...

Yes, but then maxxis might just want to give him another set of junky ST tires ;) Then he get to start all over again wondering when his tires are going to fail.
The other option is of course to just bite the bullet and buy a set of LT tires and be done with it.
Also MAXXIS may improve the tire line if they get more feedback on failures that are not completely shredded.
