Treats on those hot days (for a friend)

Tip of the day,

Well this tip is for those hot days while at camp or when travelling down those hot highways. Remember your best friend as he or they are dealing with the heat too.

I recently purchased two ice cube trays at a thrift store for 25 cents each. I came home and took a bunch of dog treat crumbs from the bottom of the box. Sprinkle the crumbs in the ice cube tray and fill with water. Freeze and place in plastic snack bags for travel.

Your buddy will appreciate the cold treat on those hot days. Crunchy & flavorful - like s’mores for dogs.

Happy Camping,
Hap
  • #40Fan,

The first time I handed my Lab the ice cube he ate it whole. I then began placing it on the ground and he chewed it (much better). All three dogs seem to love the crunchiness of the ice and the treat gives it flavor.

I wouldn't want anyone to hurt their pet.

  • Our 2 "Flabs" love ice, I put some gatorade in the water before freezing.

One of our dogs was sick, high fever and would not eat or drink, I knew enough that She needed water, put some gatorade in the water bowl and it was gone soon after. Vet said that it was O K to use it if thats what She liked and mentioned pedialyte works as well.
Pets need to be well hydrated just like Us.
  • Not sure how it will go over, but I'll try it next time with my best friend, the DW!
