Trip report

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share my fuel mileage and cost on our recent vacation.
We left KC on June 22 and returned on July 10th.

We went to the 50th Coachman Owners Assc. rally in Goshen, In. Then on to Four Mile Creek State Park in Niagara Falls, NY. Then on to Williamstown, KY to the Ark Encounter, then home. It was awesome!!!

Anyway here is my figures, some estimated because I couldn't find 2 receipts.

2687 miles driven.
259.2 gals of fuel
10.3 mpg average
$570.47 spent on fuel
$2.20 gal average per gal
Highest amount paid- $2.89 in Pennsylvania.
Lowest amount paid- $206 right here in Kansas City, Mo.

And the trip was priceless. Can't wait hardly wait for retirement.
Thanks, John
  • Glad to hear you had an enjoyable trip. Must more relaxed travel when retired. You did a little less than half of our annual fulltime travel in 18 days.
  • Glad you had a great trip John!! When all goes well, and everyone enjoyed the trip, it truly is priceless!!

Still fun to keep track of expenses. If it was a real issue, we would all be traveling in our little cars, and tenting.

    I couldn't wait, retired at 58.

I wish Jerry. Turned 61 while on the trip. I can retire next year but the house won't be paid for yet. Planning on retiring at 67 I hope.
  • If I would have known how great retirement was, I would have started with it, then start work when all the aches and pain started....LOL
  • Congrats on the safe and enjoyable trip !! Hubby does basically the same thing as far as keeping "records". He also keeps a journal of daily activities throughout the trip. He is retired, and I plan on 2 more years, then we are on the road "Full-time". Good Luck and Happy Camping !!
  • I just put on about 5 thousand miles, pulled a car this time, didn't check miles. Think it was ok, don't care, gas is cheap and I'm old. I'm going anyway if I get half the mileage and it cost twice as much. I have more money, then I have time left.
