Triple slides an issue?

I went from a small trailer with one shallow slide out to a my new fifth-wheel with 3 slides, including the two opposing ones for the living room. It is like a mansion to me.

Having those two opposing slides gives you what feels like a real room.

Absolutely.. they are an apartment.

As mentioned above, most all sites can accomodate the usual street side slides without any issue. I've never seen a campsite that couldn't accomodate the awning on the curb side of the trailer...if the awning can go out, so can the slide, my curb side slide doesn't extend half as far as the awning does. If got a site where my awning couldn't go out, I'd be getting another site or moving on. Even "sardine" packed CGs haven't been an issue, aside from the issue of being that cramped, but, even in those campgrounds, opposing slides hasn't been an issue.

Love my three slides and I've never encountered a site that I couldn't use all three of them. You might have to "juggle" a bit to allow for the pedestal at some sites, but, I had to do that back when I had a single slide bumper pull. The 318SAB allows the use of the full kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with all three slides in. The bedroom slide, when in, does block some of the drawers in the dresser, but, that slide can be extended 8" or so, in an "emergency", for access to the drawers and then pulled back in; the slide is high enough to clear most any vehicle with the exception of a truck tractor and even in those circumstances you wouldn't be parked that close to anything. We try not to pack anything in those drawers that we would need in the type of scenario where we couldn't extend the slide anyway. In a pinch, the floor design is quite livable with all the slides in...you'd only be using it that way to catch a quick 40 winks before moving on, so, not being able to recline and watch television or fire up the computer for surfing isn't an issue with the slides in and with the full kitchen still open, restocking while on the road or fixing a meal isn't an issue.

If you haven't stood in a unit with opposing slides, you are missing the ballroom feel. When I pull the trigger on a 5th wheel, it will most definitely have opposing slides. And to make a minor inconvenience for the small portion of the time I'm on the road be a deal breaker for the month I'm living at the lake be a deal breaker would be unthinkable.

Have you considered the possible problem of not being able to use or get access to portions of the unit while traveling? Many with this type of a setup are a problem because it wont let you use either the refrigerator, bedroom or bathroom without opening a slide. For myself, not being able to get into the refrigerator or bathroom would be a deal breaker.

Seems to me the triple or quad slides don't extend as far as a super slide type slider. So I wouldn't think the overall extended width would be much different.

Three slides here also.

We seldom stay at resorts or private parks.
No problems at other camps so far.

Getting ready to go with our current coach presents a minor problem.
The "curbside" slide has to extend for comfortable access to the rear.
That puts it over the sidewalk in front of our house.
The doorside slide gets lots of in-out exercise.

It's not so much the individual parks, although some you just don't bother to try, but you just have to be careful with individual sites. Trees are our biggest issue with the slides, and sometimes the site we picked may not be the one we end up with.

Unless you have a tight spot that is your all time favorite, you can overcome the opposing slide space pretty easy. It's no more of an issue than awning placement, steps, cord length, hose length, and all the other things that sometimes work against you when setting up.

Slides on the street side (drivers side) are pretty much the norm, right. And the exterior door is always on the curb side, so if a site is too narrow for opposing slides, then it is pretty much too narrow to use the door and the street side slides. Doesn't sound like a good site anyway for even single slide floor plans.

Would not want to be without our three slides; only problem is the occasional tree limb-- just a matter of checking outside before putting slide out. As for access to refrig or bath, that's at matter of looking at floorplan before buying. If there is a question, just ask for a look at unit with slides in. There are plenty of units that allow access to refrig and bath with slides in.
