Truck and trailer flaps

For those of you that employ either mud flaps on the truck and/or the fifth wheel can you vouch for their effectiveness and tell us what make/type you use.

  • We have Rock Tamer receiver mounted flaps .
Works great for us....fully adjustable (height, width)

About $300.00 but saves road debris damage to the front of the coach.
We ordered ours on line through Costco.

  • Mud Flaps

They ain't cheap but are certainly heavy duty. I liked the fact that they are adjustable and worked well for me.
  • Mine are gatorback stainless and rubber. Look great and protect truck and trailer.
  • I purchased a set from dealer and they work great. They are moulded to fit perfectly and leave six inches of clearance. Makes a big difference in keeping the fiver clean. I also put a set on the front to help keep the truck clean.
  • I was thinking about getting a set of the ones that go right across the back of the truck and mount in the receiver, does any one use those?

I don't know if they make those or not but the ones I'm talking about are the traditional style that mount behind the wheels (no drilling though).
  • The Duraflaps you are referring to, are they the ones that go into the trailer hitch receiver?
  • They work but you have to get big enough ones to do so. Most of the cheapo toy flaps like the ones that come with trucks, are nearly useless.
I did a lot of reearch and the best brand IMHO is Duraflap. They are large, tough and perfeclty fitted. THey will cost more but if you want a flap that isn't just for looks, they are great. They're American made too.
  • I have a DRW and they are a must for me as mud used to get slung all over the side and up the front of the 5er. Got a set of Duraflap brand in their no drill line. Am very happy with them.
