Truck Bed Clearance
I just traded in my 2005 4wd F350 for a Ram 2500 4wd and love it. But, I didn't realized the bed, therefore hitch, was that much higher than what I had. I will be dropping the hitch a hole or two but ...

And just when you think the weight police are out of town, low and behold they show up.
To the OP from my experience I wouldn't want anything under 5" preferably 6" or more. It's impossible for me with the 3500 Ram to get level and keep adequate clearance other then raising the fifth wheel. Hitch is as low as I can go ,and pinbox is as high as I can go. Just no where to go.. Seems to tow okay a bit out of level.
