Truck stop fueling

most of the truck stops that I am familiar with will have a diesel pump in front where the automobiles fill up. normally it will be off to the side where an RV can pull in, fill up and leave. normally if you try to use one of the auto pumps it will be very difficult to get in/out. I try not to use the truckers pumps.

I wonder how consistent that is in reality?

I know at a gas station in Alabama, my cousin was able to fill her tank with diesel with no issue. Fortunately the clerk came running out before she started it up.

That also happened to a coworker here in PA... Our diesel nozzles at regular gas stations are the same size as the ones for gas, just green handled...

The high-flow nozzles fit both my 04 Dodge and my 06 Chevy without problems.

Actually, EPA (I think it is EPA. One of the alphabet agencies, anyway) requires that ALL diesel nozzles be slightly larger than gasoline nozzles to prevent introducing diesel fuel into gas systems. They are not supposed to fit through the little gate inside the filler tube on gassers. (They don't have any rules to keep somebody from putting gas in a diesel truck!)

Yes, I do. With the high flow nozzle and 34 gallon tank, it's quick.

I actually always stay with the truck and almost always hold the nozzle even at a regular gas station. I've seen too many instances where the automatic shutoff didn't work to trust it.

I too stay with the nozzle as it only takes a few minutes at best to fill with the high output nozzles. Once I am full, I then pull up out of the way, then I do my walk around, tire check, temp check on hubs, ect.

And, I'll use the nozzle opened the whole way up for full flow. Though, I do ease into it and slow down when I hear it getting full.

they pump high volume fast, ( need to fill up 150-200 gallon tanks).
use the auto or rv pump islands. ( rv pumps can also have a dump there).

They flow down to a trickle far better than most small nozzles! They will fit any newer Diesel PU. They will fill FAST if you WANT them to.
