x2. Truck brakes are much better than years past, and it's a good thing. I think the truck does much of the combination stopping. Trailer brakes are typically drums (with some exceptions) and typically don't employ an ABS. With the brake controller dialed in perfectly it's possible to get great performance out of your trailer brakes, but I doubt a truck and trailer combo would ever be able to stop as quickly as the truck alone. It would be interesting to see the results of testing.
