Surely you're not starting out low and letting the heat buildup get the pressure to the correct reading. Bad idea. I start out with the tire pressure set where I want it to be and allow for heat and pressure buildup. I plug my monitor in while I'm preparing for departure. That gives the tire sensors time to communicate with the monitor before setting out.
I have found out during cold temperature's as we hit the road I wait for a few miles to warm up the tires and bring up the air pressure before turning on our TST monitor. wife doesn't like extra noise. I have it set for this to happen.
