tv bed sides

Hi all...i may be over thinking this, but i have been told that modern tvs have very high bed sides and i need to be careful in my purchase of a tv.

I plan to purchase a gmc denali 3500 4x4 crew, std bd, srw. Bed sides r 57.25 inches from ground. ..is this ok?

Thx...bo

  • I agree with BB_TX, unless you are going to try to pull a really old short FW you shouldn't have any problem. Any adjustment you may need to make should be in your hitch.
  • I have a 2012 Chev crew longbed 4x4 and no problem with my Jayco but I also have the axles on the bottom of springs and you will need a tall hitch.
You will be real happy towing with that truck.
  • That is about the height of my F350 4x4 and not a problem with my 35' 5er. The 5er does sit slightly nose high when hooked up but not enough to be a problem. It is probably more likely to be a problem on smaller shorter lighter 5ers than longer heavier ones though.
  • 4X4 trucks sit higher........nature of the beast.

If you go measure other brand 350/3500 4X think you will find similar heights.

Already have a FW....then measure with it sitting level.

Between hitch and pin box adjustments most can be set up with proper bedrail clearance.

Some FWs have height adjustments via mounting holes in sprig shackles.

    Some may need 'axle flip'

Some may need mods.....such as square tubing/cross bracing added.

Also there is an 'alignment kit' that adds roughly 2" in height.

A properly set up truck/5th wheel is a pleasure to tow.
