U Bolt conundrum
OK I'm replacing a broken spring on our 5ver. I got the new spring on but the U-Bolts are sprung too wide to fit in the holes of the plate that runs under the axle. Is there some sort of trick to this...

I got the all the parts directly from Dexter. So it's kind of weird. I wasn't planing on taking off both wheels (on the same side) but when the spring broke it apparently caused the other wheel's shackles to flip so they were pointed up instead of down with the tension of the spring holding it up. So I had to pull that spring off too to get the shackles back down. That's why I was thinking of re-using those u-bolts on the unbroken spring.
