ultra lite 5th wheel

Ok, I am trying not to make a costly mistake. I have a 2010 f150 ford. 353 rear end ratio, 4.6 engine and the tow package. I am being told I can get a slip 5th wheel for the short bed and pull a 5th wheel. Yes I would expect it might work on flat ground. I want to go to the mountains sometime. would like to setout across america. anyone using 1/2 to to pull a 5th wheel and happy?

    The quick answer is yes, but no with your 1/2 ton. The 3.55 rear axle is not doing you any favors as well as the 4.6L engine. If you want to use the truck you have I would suggest a TT under 5,000 lbs. JMHO
