how often do the pipes and stuff get tore up under the rig while driving ? Is there a way to strengthen the PVC ? What about protecting form freezing ?

What unit do you have? Most have enclosed tanks now. Some Arabs use electric tank heaters and some use the propane furnace to send warm air down to the tank area. Your answer will depend on what you have.
