Obviously Andersen realized that what I have been saying all along is their design IMHO would be good for the 12-14K crowd. NO way 24K as they advertised. They still need to address bed deflection, yes there is bed deflection with that design.
Well, that's not at all what they're saying. Still, I think its wise to choose objectivity of the engineers over subjectivity of the audience.
But we won't lose sleep over this one.
I actually believe the matter is irrelevant. Whether they're rated at 24K or 30K or whatever, is there actually a pin box on the market for fifth wheel trailers rated at more than 21K? I'm not aware of any, though I guess there could be. So regardless of the rating, no one's going there anyway.
The comment about an Andersen hitch being better for "light tongue weight trailers" was about the ANDERSEN WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION HITCH, NOT the ANDERSEN ULTIMATE FIFTH WHEEL CONNECTION. Here is the quote from the member who posted that: "I've called Andersen a few times and the have always been very willing to speak candidly about their products. I spoke with one of their engineers about the Andersen Weight Distribution hitch and he flat told me that it works best with a light tongue weight trailer."
