I do know you read ALL my posts and I have mentioned bed deflection with my 18K Companion and what was done to correct it several times.
IIRC...that included B&W replacing a bent base for you as well... I may be incorrect on that though. So you may be a fan but I do not think its rose colored glasses you are looking through...it's just that B&W stood behind their product for you. Which is great.
As far as this redesign...I was surprised to see that Andersen didn't incorporate some variation on the plastic strips...even the Bulldog Hi-Rise fifth wheel adaptor (nobody talks about this hitch) has the plastic strips to account for the bed corrugation valleys...that hitch...the Bulldog Fifth Wheel adaptor...is very under rated IMHO...but that's for a different thread.
