The whole setup depends on the Reese Revolution pin box. All of the popular tow vehicles in Oz have beds too short for any other solution. Auto sliders are too heavy.
Generally on the road the average Pickup has no problems with the setup, looking at the number of ( not many though) Pickups going up and down the very hilly/ mountainous terrain in New Zealand.. Average speed was 55-60mph
If you understood how this pin box works then you would realize that the wedge required to keep the king pin from turning so only the rear pivot works is a real weak link. Rough off road use can easily shear off the bolt for the wedge and then two pivots will cause major damage to truck and fiver. No point in having an off road fiver with a weak hitch solution.
No and I think in the TrailblazerRV example that is what has been addressed. When you are doing pavement and dirt roads, then a robust link is needed.

We must have got it right the first time. Dual cab, tray back with a folding ball, 5th wheeler, self contained. We have more than enough storage in the van to suit us. There is a tray on the back of the ute where a folding ladder, compressor, toolbag and a few small items go. We find that the back seat usually only has maybe a couple of coats, hats or other stuff that we may need or take off during the day. When we're at home the sides go back on the ute and it's just a normal ute. All the other stuff like hoses, cables, outside chairs, tables and lots more easily fit in the lockers/boot in the van. Nothing extra goes inside the van. When we pull up it probably only takes about 5 minutes to unhook and level the van
