I think some light has finally been shed on why Australia uses tow vehicles with high payload but low horsepower compared with US pickups. Since any trailer over 10000 lbs requires air brakes, virtually all RVs are very lightweight, but with a higher percentage of total weight as pin weight. You don't need 400 hp and 900 ft./lbs of torque to tow such light trailers.
