I think I'll store it the front landing gear down and if it breaks I'll fix it.

I used to hear all kinds of precautions I had to take on my hydraulic lifts for my boat's outdrive. I store it extended, and I drive down the road with the outdrive bouncing on the hydraulics. Almost 20 years old now and I'm still waiting for the horrors to start.

Don't know what a long time is, but mine will set 4-6 weeks, and when I park it, hit "Level" and there it sits. The wheels are not off the ground when doing this.

If you have a leveling system, it has a hydraulic landing gear, so you are already relying on the hydraulics to hold up your trailer in storage.

I've actually lowered my front down to the stops so I can wash the nose. It doesn't go down to the ground, so if it failed I don't really see any big consequence.

My 5er is always on the level up with the weight off the tires,unless it is rolling down the road. And its been that away since July 2009.

I had Bigfoot (4 point leveling) on our fifth wheel. When in the storage facility, I always had the trailer on the levelers, enough to take some weight off the tires, but not enough to get them completely off the ground. No hydraulic leaks, no problems. Not to say there couldn't be though..........................
