Vinyl Fence Posts as Sewer Hose Storage - A few questions?

word to the wise on painting the fence post: I would stay away from dark colors as when I painted mine(black) that was mounted on top of my bumper it absorbed so much heat from the sun it softened the pvc to the point of caving in.
