Walmart Wouldn't Fix a Flat

One of the tires on my fiver had a nail in the tread and was losing pressure. I took the tire into a local Walmart here in Brunswick, GA for repair and they refused to do it. Something about GA law forbidding them to repair trailer tires. What?! It's an LT tire. If I didn't mention it was from a trailer they probably would have repaired it.

So, I took the tire to a local Sears and they repaired it without issue (was twice the price of Walmart). Ever hear of such a thing?

Yes. Same in Ohio. They won't fix/patch trailer tires.

Sure they will. Took a trailer in to the largest tire store in this area (about 15 separate stores in that chain around here), they took the tire and wheel off, repaired it, put it back on, and then repaired the flat spare. This was last summer.

Some places like to say "its the law...." when they should be saying "its company policy...".
  • I wouldn't trust a Walmart to do a proper repair to begin with. A real tire store should know what they are doing.
  • No such law here in Washington.

Since the local Sears store did the repair, surely it can't be "against Georgia law"- could just be Walmart policy that the store guy's blaming on the State. I've heard that some Walmart tire stores won't even SELL tires for a travel trailer, let alone service/repair them.
  • They wouldn't even change the oil on my 2012 Ram diesel until they could verify the torque value on my drain plug, which was 36 Ft lbs by the way. I told them to just run it to 35 lbs and they refused until a dealer verified the value. LOL
