Just because his mpg are different than some posted doesnt mean something is wrong with the trailer. Some drivers might have a heavier foot than others. BTW, he did mention mountain passes. Dont go buy a ford. I swear Lincster is ford saleman and does not want to admit it.
I got horrible mpg with my 05 duramax/ allison pulling a 30' 12 k 5th wheel. Everyone I talked to said something was wrong with my truck. I do believe with as many trucks that are produced something is bound to go wrong with a handful. Weather it be tranny issues or motor issue or programming issues. But to have an issue with 2 truck, without ever having your trailer looked out it will be hard to know for sure.
Get trailer with more room. You can never have enough room.
Yeah, like I said, the trailer as looked at. Another issue could be it had mudder style tires for off road. They were basically brand new still when I sold it. But that could have added drag.
And it was every truck. My built 6.0 was the same. That thing would burn the tires for 200 feet, ridiculous power (and in my mind drive way better than my duramax, just that pesky head gasket issue). It got better fuel mileage than my duramax since it was an 06 with no dpf. But still didn't get good fuel mileage towing that camper.
And I agree, I think I am leaning more towards getting the a 24. Tho I know towing the 19 footer will be easier.
And no on the new powerstroke. I don't want to get into a Chevy versus ford deal here, but I will stay Chevy. It's not the truck. Lol (besides,I am not made of money either.)
