We don't like the combos. Always went residential style, there are a variety of options depending on your size requirements.
You can add it whenever you want. The hardest part is running the water and drain but there are ways you can add that yourself easily even if plumbing is NOT available. We added a dishwasher once, didn't have water or a drain on the slide. I simply ran a connector through the side wall and connected a drain hose and secondary water hose. Also swapped out the fridge for a residential and got ice and water in the fridge at the same time. Worked great and was simple to do. Easy to setup when we moved. Literally took an extra 3 minutes to do the hoses after my regular setup procedure. Well worth the convenience.
Dryers are easy. Just get a 120v version like the Whirlpool LDR3822PQ. GE also has one. You cut a hole in the side wall for the exhaust and plug it into an outlet.
