Just another annoyance to protect people with a lack of common sense.

Yes, great for families with crazy kids (Yes I too was once one), heck I did fine with a 6 gal tank, now that we have a 10 gal tank DW doesn't take Navy showers when we have full hook up.
  • Mixing valve! Titaniums have them and they are a constant source of problems.
  • That model of Atwood uses a 'mixing valve' on the backside of WH tank.

Cold water goes in bottom of tank then is heated to 160*F then mixes with cold water at outlet to provide 130*F water. (hot outlet & cold water mixing valve).

That's how you get 16 gallon capacity out of a nominal 10 gallon tank.

When the hot outlet side of mixing valve clogs more cold water is passed and you end up with warm water.

You can remove mixing valve and soak it in vinegar to try and clean it out
    OR
    Buy new one and replace

    OEM Atwood mixing valve.........part #90029 E-Bay for $112 LINK

Or purchase a Watts Brand mixing valve (adjustable outlet temp) for $68 LINK
  • Check outside shower. Make sure both the valves are off and not just the head.
  • Check your thermostat and ECO. Make sure they are tight to the tank.
Look at connections on the thermostat and ECO. Look for loose or blackened connections.
