The applicable code, NFPA 1194, says on potable water "Where water is distributed under pressure, the water supply system shall be designed to provide a minimum flow pressure of 20 psi (137.8 kPa) with a minimum flow of 2 gpm (9.1 L/min) at any outlet." On a newer system, that's still rather low and doesn't say if that's all sites turned on at the same time or just a portion of them. Problem is, many CGs have been around for decades and predate this code requirement and/or are woefully in need of repair and replacement of piping. In some cases, low pressure can be due to the local municipal system. As Lynnmor pointed out once, if low CG pressure is your issue, just use your FW tank & pump as needed.

So much easier to just flip the switch on/off
All done from inside RV ....before going to bed, going outside, leaving CG etc

Pump pressure is consistent regardless of where you go

Many older campgrounds add sites without increasing the capacity of the water supply pipes, instead they simply increase pressure to compensate for the installed inadequate plumbing. Seeing water pressure vary greatly is a sure sign of an inadequate supply system.

I read this story a few years ago (I think). Thought...hmmm...I guess that's one way of doing it. Then we were camping at a place about year or so back and the water pressure was all over the place. We had a $50/$60 high quality water regulator, but the one thing a regulator can't do for you is CREATE pressure. When you get in the shower and don't have enough pressure to wash the shampoo from your hair, that's aint good. But during low demand, you had all the pressure you wanted.

So to offset these things, we use the tank and pump exclusively too. Fill it up every 2 days or so.

i use fresh tank and pump also. when we first started rving i used an adjustable regulator set on 45 psi. the fresh water pump gives better pressure in the shower and i like to hear pump run if we might develop leak in the plumbing. i travel with water in the fresh tank anyway because we use the TT bathroom when we are on the road traveling.

That's why we usually run off the tank...if there is a leak, I want to know about it. If I hear the pump running when no one is using water...I'm looking for the leak.

Used pressure water on our boat until one time a pinhole leak that ran all weekend. We finally questioned why we heard the bilge pump going off so much and found the leak.

Found the fitting ...it was on hot out of water heater....it was broken and let go
Must have been overtightened by 'gorilla' on factory floor.

Pressure regulator worked as designed..maintained 50# as water flowed thru water heater and out under kitchen sink/cabinet.
Water flowed for hours...we were sleeping.

Being awoken at 4:30AM to that was unpleasant to say the least.
