Waxing My Unit

Hello folks. I am getting ready to start waxing this year. I am looking for a tool to attach to my cordless drill that is good for waxing the outside of my RV. I am 33 feet long and waxing everything is hard on the ole arms.

I have fiberglass outsides not the aluminum ribbed outsides.

Thanks for the informaiton,
RC

  • I personally would not user your cordless drill... I use a random orbital ... I am sure a cordless would work , but I would be afraid to do some type of harm... I am sure if there was a way ,I would find it ! :)

I've waxed every RV I've owned for years and years and years. Will be 64 next month and 5er I've owned since 2007 is 39' 9" long and I wax it at least 2 times a year...now you know one:)

on edit: It just dawned on me where you might have been going with that one:B
  • I stumbled on a company called "Autogeeks.com" and found a orbital device that makes short work of any RV. I then us a soft towel to remove the wax. No swirls, no muss or fuss.

  • Personally, I like to polish by hand. If you use a non wax polymer polish (such as NU-Finish), it goes on and comes off very easy. I can do my entire 37' fiver in one day.
  • I use a $29 10" orbital buffer. Only weighs a couple pounds, pretty easy to 1 hand. Why burn up a perfectly good drill. The outside receptacle on the trailer makes a great place to plug in.
  • I don't know if you have a Harbor Freight near where you are but i picked up a buffer for around $30, if not check them out on the internet. I did the boat, camper, 3 cars. Its a 9'' i think so it covers some ground quick...honestly a little big for doing cars but great for the boat and camper.

I know my arms hurt after hand waxing my unit!
