Weighed the truck and 5er today

Finally got around to weighing everything today. Truck and trailer in sig. Full tank of fuel, wife and I, two dogs and of course the hitch.
Steer axle loaded 4860
Steer alxe truck only 4740
Drive axle loaded. 5460
Drive axle empty. 3400
Trailer axles. 7480

Gross weight. 17800
Gross truck weight 8140
Trailer weight. 9660
Pin weight. 2180
GVWR. 9900
Other than being over on truck GVWR what do you guys think?
Trailer GVWR is 9670.
  • Trucks gross weight is the sum of the trucks loaded axles (4860 + 5460)=10320 lbs gross weight.

Assuming your F350 is a SRW your well under the F350 SRW 6830 RAWR.

However the '03 F350 SRW shows a 4400 or 4800 FAWR. With a 4860 lbs on the front axles your overweight a dab which includes springs/tires and wheels.

Your trucks drivers side door post has a GVWR/FAWR/RAWR vehicle placard.

You may want to do something with decreasing weight on the trucks front suspension or beefing it up a bit.

    spell checked..jim
  • Op'er here. Yep over GVWR of truck and 10 lbs. under on the trailer. Where do I find the axle ratings for the truck and the trailer? I looked under trailer didn't see any tags on axles. Wheels are 15 inch six lug. Thanks, guys.

I'm confused, you list trucks GVWR at 9900 pounds and the loaded truck at 8140? That by my calculations puts you under by a bit over 1800 pounds. So what's the problem?

The 8140 is the truck alone. That's 4740 + 3400. If you add the pin weight to it 8140 + 2180 = 10320. That's 420# over the GVWR. His trailer is only 10# under it's limit.
  • The numbers do not add up. If you add all loaded axle weights it is 19,980 not 17800.

Yes he is, but only 420# and well under rear axle rating. Just like me, can't condone it that is his choice.
