well. It's decision time

Just unofficially sold my TT. I have searched the world over and found two campers that I'm looking at for my first 5er.
Just wanted some feedback. Which one would you buy?

This one is clean but needs a set of tires. $4000

A little nervous about the taller one. I'm pulling with a regular cab long bed powerstroke so HP's shouldn't be a concern.
Both are already outfitted with gooseneck adapter which I needed. Gonna go look (after this dang 20inches of snow melts) at the one I get the most votes for here guys! Thanks for all the great help here.

    I had a 1998 Jayco similar to the one you're looking at, but 2' shorter.
    For the camping we did at the time, and for 2 people, it was perfect.
    The low headroom for the bedroom was a problem unless your wife has knee problems. I actually liked sliding out of the bed in the morning.
    If there are more in the family, I wouldn't think about it.
    Got into a few nice state park campsites where taller ones wouldn't fit.

    If you like it and there are no problems, I would take it over anything that had a leak.

    Agreed! I zoomed in and those side are definitely questionable!
    I talked to the guy with the jayco. Making plans to go look at it!

    I just noticed that. It has been repaired in that area. That explains why no pics of the bedroom area. My present 5er had been repaired on the opposite side. The repair failed. I had to have it repaired the right way and it wasn't cheap. After my experience I would say pass. JMHO. Good luck, John

    I noticed that. Couldnt tell if it was just drainage from gutter or something more. There is two streaks there that are in question.

    I like the Terry also. Look at image #1, the siding around the bedroom window looks discolored and the decal strip is gone? :h That area might need closer inspection.

    If your a young guy then crawling out of your bunk in that Jayco at night is not going to be a problem but if your an old fart like most of us on this list one night crawling out of that bunk you or the miss is going to fall on your arss... Don't ask how I know this!

    While winter storage is certainly nice, both fivers have probably never seen inside storage and have survived well so far. Livability is more valuable than storage, so the Terry is most likely the better choice if you plan to use it. Besides, the Jayco has received a lot of renovation, while it looks good, is there anything hiding? Look at the Terry, make your offer, then check out the Jayco.

    the couple of things that keep me thinking about the jayco is the low roof will allow for winter storage in my dad's garage. The other one won't fit. and the cost. could be $1000 less than the Terry b/c I don't think that guy will budge on the Terry. Maybe I'll make him an offer of $4500 and tell him he can take it or leave it and go buy Jayco.

    The slide does it for me. Especially since the slide has windows on 3 sides, that will really brighten up the interior. It's amazing how much bigger a trailer feels with those extra few square feet.

    I also think it's easier to keep a smooth-sided trailer clean, as compared to the corrugated sides of the Jayco.
