What a bummer!!!!!

It will go to the dump! The only time I had trouble with hitching up was if I wasn't dead on!!!! Hopefully this Reese hitch won't be as sensitive to hooking up. Had to have the handle reversed on the hitch (Reese) because it sticks up a little and I am putting a cover over the bed. So, now I wait and see. The pin box has been shipped, no tracking number tho! Thanks for your help and thoughts.

Tweety's is great. So is Moreryde. After seeing what you had, you did the right thing. That capture plate and pinbox needs to be taken to a landfill and destroyed. Sure looks like it was homemade. Whatever you do, don't let anyone else use that old pinbox and capture plate. Such as, if you sell your SuperGlide. Advise the buyer to buy their own new capture plate.

As another poster suggested, I don't know how that one could have ever worked without high pinning. I'll bet you had some trouble hitching up with your SuperGlide. But it probably wasn't the hitches fault.

It's welded on three sides and in the middle of the plate they welded where the screws are underneath!

??? What happens if you undo the 4 bolts across the front of the hitch plate? Cant see what might be holding the rear of the plate but it might come off.

Ok, I ordered a new moreryde king pin today! Hopefully it will be at the dealers by Thursday! Thanks for all the help, I think the picture speaks volumes, instead of me describing it!
I ordered it from Tweetys as someone mentioned?

Good suggestion... I wonder if that will make it HIGH HITCH onto a regular hitch >?? On note.. I agree that is the most horrid capture plate I ever saw...

I have a bolt on capture plate that simply hangs onto the front edge and king pin:

My Gawd. What a mess. Someone did a terrible job. No saving that pinbox. It is JUNK. CW got it right.

To save your planned trip maybe CW could take a pin box off a trailer on their sales lot to use for the trip or just by a used one from them if they have one.
