What a bummer!!!!!

I just got my New truck 2013 F 350 Diesel lariat and took out the super glide out of the old truck. Now, I didn't know that there was a capture plate under the pin box! Someone told me. Yes, I have one. Where I bought the 5er they WELDED the capture plate on!!!!! Camping World said that the weld was to thick to grind off, so now I have to have a New Pin box installed. I was suppose to go to Galveston for a week on the beach and now I can't go because it will take 7-10 days to get the new pin box! What a crying shame that they didn't just tack it down! :M

  • Was the new truck equipped with the fifthwheel prep? That is causing headaches unless your a Reese Hitch owner!
  • Get your own grinder. Or use a torch with cutting tip.
CW is a wimp out. "Don't let materials beat you" is the way I learned it.
  • I do a lot of grinding and know that anything can be ground off. I do not know why you have to remove the capture plate but call a real welder and get his opinion. He will get it removed if it must be.

Supeglides use a special guide plate that is screwed or tack welded to the pin box....

I understand that, but the pinbox is on the 5er and he has the same 5er. It is the truck that is new.

EDIT He says that he took the hitch out of his old truck.
