I going to purchase a new 5th wheeler, As part of the Offer I make the dealer, I'm going to ask for accessories. The BIG questions is what accessories do i need for a new 5th wheeler? Never Owning a 5th wheeler, I need some suggestions. I have a bumper pull, but is a very basic unit, no slides. Besides a kingpin stabilizer and some levelers for the wheels, What am I missing?
Advice Please.
TIA
Jeffrey
Be careful with your negotiations, because with most dealers they throw in an accessory package to get you started. Of course you're paying for it as part of the deal, but don't let them BS you into thinking it was your great negotiation skills. The stuff in the package is typically enough to get you started with the essentials. Not highest grade, but good enough to start.
Forget the kingpin stabilizer. You don't need one and few folks use them these days.
I can't think of much that I needed for a fiver, that I didn't already have in my TT. Same basic stuff.
You NEED wedge type wheel chocks. Between the tire chocks are optional and only in addition to the wedges.
Good advice.
Stick with the basic stuff you already have -or- the basic "get started" pkg from the dealer.
You will easily figure out what you *really* need (eventually) over and above that.
Trying to "negotiate" something like adding a generator only leads to a price increase by the dealer.
........and it's marked up a bunch - so the "deal" you get to have it included - is not really a deal..:(
