Historically speaking, on most TH's with the normal rearward axles placement, tongue weight changes just a little with added bike weights. GVW does change considerably though...
You're now 900lb tongue weight. I assume that is scale weight you measured yourself..?
So now add truck passengers, fuel, wd hitch, baggage, bed cargo, and you are easily over the load capacity of most 1/2 ton PU's 1000 lb tongue max...

The 900lbs was fully loaded except the bikes. Black tank was probably 3/4, gray 1/3 and fresh probably had 1/3 in it. Add 350 lbs in the truck for the wife, dog and me. A couple of lawn chairs and a small fold up table. One of my fellow RV'rs had a scale and we checked it.
Probably still too heavy for an older 1/2t, but an f-150 with the eco-boost and towing package didn't have any issues.
