No its not, i towed my 24' Talon @ 10,000lbs with my lifted 05 F150 on 35's with 373 gears, it went everywhere we camp. I had airbags, intake and exhaust mods and a pordigy....Worked fine

You have my complete sympathy. Most of us have been in your exact same position where we had to struggle to find that sweet spot where budget, desires, and safety intersect. I really do feel for you. The fact that you're agonizing over this decision means that you have enough brains to actually think it through. Too many people just pull the trigger on the wrong setup and then they regret it down the road.
