Agree with the floorplan first & foremost. Get someting with plenty of galley working space. What can be made do with for the weekend warrior is going to be getting real small real fast when living fulltime.
If you plan on doing some serious traveling don't go too big. CG options in SPs & NPs shrink rapidly once you go over the 35-36' LOA mark. Don't go too small either. The smaller it is the faster it seems to shrink with time.
Do the research. You don't want to buy a mistake. Mistakes are costly. Get the right one first time. Buy somebody else's mistake. Hopefully it is less than a year old, has had very little use, has had the new unit bugs taken care of, has taken its biggest hit in depreciation & is just THE model you are looking for.
