Mine is attached and is 30 amp, supposed to stuff inside the compartment where it is attached and plugs into generator. Always a PITA to get out/stuff in, especially when cold. My solution was to cut off all but about 8' and install new male/female ends to make an extension. Now I don't carry the "extension" unless I have hookups, not for dry camping. Works much better for me.
There are many times when I can get close enough to the power pole that I don't need the extension either.
